Two Girls, One Beer is Kristie Martin and Ashleigh Bennett. It’s a place for us to review craft beers, so if you’re here looking for a spinoff of the video we mocked while naming this blog, you’ve come to the wrong place. If you want to talk IBU, ABV, and about whatever worts you may have going on…you’ve come to the right place.
What began as two girls brewing their first batch of beer because they were bored and broke on the Cape, has evolved into a passion. Brewpubs, festivals, homebrewing; we love to experience everything that the world of craft beer has to offer and love meeting new people who share the same appreciation. Two Girls, One Beer is our gal’s guide to the beer world of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
You can usually recognize us as the chicks hovering over a plate of oysters or cheese, furiously scribbling beer notes onto cocktail napkins.
Kristie Martin, originally from Hyannis, MA, now resides in Dover, New Hampshire with her evil cat Meena. With a BA in English and Film and a history of restaurant management/cooking positions, she is now a Certified Beer Server and studying for her Cicerone and Beer Judge licenses. You can find her tending bar at WHYM Craft Beer Café in Portsmouth. Some of her hobbies include compulsively collecting cookbooks, making silly movies, fitness, homebrewing, and playing guitar (See: Cheri Love Affair: Cape Cod’s Favorite GG Allin Tribute Band). Her favorite beer styles are saisons and sours.
Ashleigh Bennett lives on Cape Cod, MA, in an old school house from the 1800s with her boyfriend and Binx (cat). She holds a BA in journalism and cultural anthropology. She works as a team member of creative ensemble at Ignite 360, an insights and strategy firm in San Francisco. When not working or traveling to remote locations, such as a Cramps themed airstream in the Mojave desert, you can find her doing freelance writing and photography for magazines such as Cape Cod Life, and Cape Cod Magazine, doing pole fitness, hiking, crafting, sewing, reading, or eating fine cheese. Look for her as Miss July in the 2013 ‘Gansett Calendar, and feel free to buy her any curried beer or gruit if you see her out and about.
Have any suggestions for beers you’d like to see reviewed? Disagree with anything said? Leave a comment letting us know. We are based out of Cape Cod, Massachusetts/Portsmouth, New Hampshire and are available for freelance work and beer events. You can e-mail us at twogirlsonebeerblog@gmail.com.
