I used to complain about Cape Cod being a craft beer desert, and in a way it still is, but things are slowly beginning to change, especially with the advent of the second annual Cape Cod Brew Fest held in East Falmouth on September 28.
Big craft beer events aren’t frequent in this area, we don’t get special keg tappings, the Game of Thrones beer hits the shelves six weeks after release, so this is a tradition I’d like to see continue onwards and grow throughout the years so that distributors can finally can see this area as a viable market share with an interest in craft beer.
There will be over 50 brewers at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds (Moonlight Meadery, Foolproof, and Left Hand Brewing Company to name some of our favorites), along with food trucks, which are quickly becoming one of my favorite beer partnerships. It should be a requirement at beerfests, one truck for every ten breweries or something. There are going to be 50 breweries at this fest pouring samples and if you purchase the VIP tickets you can try some additional rare and specialty beers.
You can buy tickets here if you’re interested. Hopefully we will see some of you there!
