I don’t have a lot of familiarity with Rhode Island, and now I live here. I don’t even have a favorite bar yet. New breweries are starting to pop up even before I’ve sampled the old ones. It’s all happening so fast! I wanted to put together a weekly compendium of beer events going in in the Ocean State for a couple reasons. First, are there other beer bloggers in Rhode Island? E-mail me because I’d love to hear from you! RI beer info is a little scattered across the internet right now, so I thought this would help beer folks plan their drinking itinerary. Also, this is to help me figure out where to go, what to drink, how to actually live in this state as a craft beer consumer.
So here’s some events going on this week in Rhode Island. If you hear of anything else, feel free to reach out at email@example.com Cheers.
Tickets are on sale for the Rhode Island Winter Brew Fest, being held on February 1 at The Armory in Pawtucket. This event will feature over 40 breweries, with a focus on Rhode Island, and over 125 beers to sample. There are two, three-hour sessions from 1:00-4:00 and 5:00-8:00, each with live music and food. A portion of every ticket sold will benefit the Rhode Island Brewers Guild. http://www.ribrewfest.com/winter

And one more little tidbit, one of my favorite beers, Pauwel Kwak was just tapped over at Norey’s in Newport. I highly suggest grabbing some of that before it’s gone.
