September is shaping up to be a busy month, so here’s a rundown of upcoming events. Are we missing something? Hosting an event? Have some info you want us to add? E-mail us for info on how to get it promoted- email@example.com
9/8-9/11: New World Tavern in Plymouth is hosting their Pumpkinfest. Who cares if it’s 90• out? Not these guys, and neither should you.
9/18: Nor’East Beer Garden is hosting their fall beer dinner with seatings at 5 and 8pm. September is one of the best times to visit P-Town and executive chef Nate Dress is sure to deliver with meals of carefully crafted and locally sourced ingredients, as well as pairings with world-class beers all on this little spit of land way out in the Atlantic.
9/24: The tourists are gone and the island is at peak beauty- hop a ferry to the Martha’s Vineyard Beerfest in Oak Bluffs. Featuring 50 breweries and 150 beers, it’s worth the boat ride.
9/24: Cambridge Brewing Company is kicking off the end of summer with a pig roast. We don’t know if there will be drinking horns, but there will be Sous Chef Jon Gilman grilling a whole pig.
9/28: New World Tavern is hosting a paint night with a painting other than a crapy seascape…with drinks other than boxed wine! Wahoo! I really want to go to this one since my sons nursery is space and sky themed.
9/30-10/2: New World Tavern is hosting Oktoberfest. Stop by all weekend for some authentic German beer and live music. Prost!
10/1: Gray Matter Marketing is putting on their annual Cape Cod Brewfest at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds. This event is always a good time, and now that there’s über on the Cape you have a DD all good to go. Trust us, you’ll need one.
10/2: Need to burn off what you drank the night before? Run in the Cape Cod Craft Brew Race at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds. It’s a 5k that ends in a fest. I’ll be running it on the Bad Martha team and pouring afterwards.
10/8: Craft Beer Cellar – Plymouth is hosting a scavenger hunt downtown, followed by an afterparty at New World Tavern. Trivia, teamwork, beer…sign up with a team or on your own and get tossed onto a random team with us local craft beer weirdos (the non-creepy kind) for what promises to be a good time.
10/14: It’s time for Beervana, it’s sort of like Nirvana for beer drinkers (duh). Try some of your favorites as well as some white whales. In the past they’ve had special aged KBS, Cantillion, and Utopia.
10/22: BACON! BEER! Toss in some cats and you’ll break the Internet. Hophead Events is putting on the first annual Bacon and Beer Jamboree with live music from Whiskey Burn and Dalton and the Sherriffs. And with bacon. And beer.
10/29: Cambridge Brewing Company is hosting the 9th Annual Great Pumpkin Festival. Costumes encouraged, love of pumpkin required. This event usually also has one of the best complimentary pint glasses.
